Well at long last I am posting about my master bedroom makeover! It isn't 100% done as I'm still adding some art work, searching for a new ceiling fan, working on a couple projects in the bathroom and trying to convince my hubby to paint the closet but it's close!
Our bedroom is one of the last rooms in the house that we haven't redecorated or painted since moving in 3 years ago. It was a sad sad room full of tan and brown. I don't have a before photo of the room but the bottom half was painted a poopy brown color and the top half was cream divided by a natural colored wood trim. YUCK!
The photo below was taken right after the room was done being painted (Gobi Desert by Behr).
Sad looking isn't it. The bedding wasn't much better and it didn't reflect our taste at all. {I'd like to get rid of this furniture too but that will have to wait a year or two!}
While reading a friend's blog I came across the lovely Heather Saunders from the ReStyle Group. I contacted her about helping with my master bedroom makeover and back in February we spent the morning together talking about ideas and looking at my Pinterest board. She was so sweet and fun to hang out with! She basically told me that based on my board that I knew what I wanted I just needed someone to tell me that it all went together! I think she was kind of right. Heather created this lovely mood board for me that included some of my favorite things and added a few more ideas.
My hubby wasn't convinced that the multiple patterns in the duvet cover and pillows would work but it does and he loves it! The duvet cover is from West Elm and curtains from Pottery Barn.
I'd love to pull down the mirror and put up something else but since I'm not sure what it will stay for now. The ceramic blue lamp and white shade are both from Target. The trio of round glass vases are from West Elm that I purchased years ago. They had been collecting dust up in my closet but the colors are perfect for our new room.

One thing I love about our home is the previous owners spent a lot of time (and money) tiling all the bathrooms. We have gorgeous granite tile counter tops and the tub and shower are both tiled. But the builder grade mirror was distracting. We purchased oval mirrors from Kirklands and I spray painted the frames with oil rubbed bronze paint.
Removing the mirror provided more privacy in the shower which is directly across from the counter. Our light fixtures were not hung centered to the sinks so we are trying to figure out how to fix that.

Once I saw this sunburst mirror floating around Pinterest I knew I had to have it! It's perfect hanging over our bed and reflects the light from the window across the room.
See those floral pillows? Those were my inspiration for the whole room! The Kravet Jellybean fabric is just stunning in person. I expressed my undying love for this pattern previously! The chair purchase is still on my list now that it is back in stock!
The blue and white chevron pillows are from Target and I intended on using them in another room but they fit in here so perfectly they will stay!
The citron and jute pillows are from Pottery Barn. I'm thinking of adding a third to the center of them all.
This gallery wall is my favorite part of the room! We placed it on the wall parallel to our bed and when you walk in the room it becomes the focal point. It came together on a whim during my huge score at the Pottery Barn store that was temporarily closing for rennovations.
**Gorgeous photos above are from my amazing friend Erin at E.L Hicks Photography and also from Jamie Lynn at Jamie Lynn Photography
The two small white frames are from Ikea and the rest are from Pottery Barn. All the Pottery Barn frames cost me less then $50! I was super excited.
I made the art of our birthdates and anniversary in Picnik (before it shut down). For the subway art I stained a plaque from Joann's and purchased the vinyl from a local gal, Sassy Talk. For those wondering the saying is "I love you more then yesterday, less then tomorrow." It's such a sweet saying and since it is in french it adds the little touch of France I like to incorporate into each room in our home.
I also got this vinyl from Sassy Talk and made my own signs after this inspiration photo.

I'm slowly adding in the finishing touches (like finding someone to hem my curtains!) and I'll post more photos as items are added.
Thank you stopping by!
